Per guidance of the MHSAA and the CYO, the St. Joan of Arc Athletic Program plans of going forward with the Winter 2024-25 Athletic Season. Registration will be open on September 27, 2024- October 18, 2024. Information as follows:

We need all parents to register by our October 18, 2024 deadline. If you can not make a full payment or partial payment by this date, please contact the athletic director to set up a payment plan. Once you set up a payment plan, you are still required to complete our online form by the deadline. We need this information in order to properly organize the season.
A proud addition to our program has been our Young Chargers Program (Grades K-4). The goal of this program is to offer younger athletes the ability to be involved in our athletic program. Since this is a newer program, things are subject to change, but we plan on offering 1-2 practices a week teaching fundamentals and some games vs local parishes. If local parishes do not have teams to play, we will adapt and offer different options to enhance the experience for the athletes (more practices, inter-squad scrimmages, etc.).
Weekly practice schedules will be sent out a week before the start date, and game schedules will be sent out about two weeks after the first practice. Please understand the process that we follow in order: 1) Determine team enrollment through registration; 2) Assign coaches/ contact CYO to register our teams; 3) Create practice schedule/ find gym times; 4) Receive game schedules from CYO. It normally takes CYO a couple weeks after the first practice to finalize our game schedules. By following this protocol, it offers our athletes the best experience because it gives us the ability to adapt the needs of the program.
All athletes will need to have a concussion form and physical form on file. Athletes who already did this for the fall 2024 season are all set. If an athlete did not participate fall sports, they will need to both forms completed by the first practice in order to participate.

Description of Program/Levels:
The St. Joan of Arc Athletics Programs mission is to educate rules and strategies of the game, develop fundamental skills and promote hard working life skills while using Athletics as a gateway to help athletes become better individuals and Christians.

Level	Ideology	Eligibility
Instructional	Educate rules of the game. Equal (as possible) playing time. Create a fun/energetic environment.	This is not a CYO sanctioned sport, therefore there technically are no eligibility requirements.
Freshman	Educate rules of the game. Begin to develop fundamentals. Equal (as possible) playing time with athletes beginning to be placed in a position. Have fun.	Student of SJA School or registered member of SJA REP Program. SJA also allows athletes from other local parishes to participate as long as the parish they are coming from does not offer that sport and is approved by their home parishes AD. SJA also follows the MHSAA Limited Membership rule where athletes can play on other non CYO teams in season but cannot participate in more that 2 contests for that team. JV	Educate rules of the game. Emphasis on fundamentals and skill development. All Athletes will participate but not necessarily equal playing time. Have fun.
Varsity	Educate rules of the game. Emphasis on fundamentals and skill development. Earned playing time. Higher emphasis on strategy towards winning and preparing athletes for High School Athletics. Have fun.
